Licensed Therapist

Job Description

Use both individual and group sessions to assess and treat mental and emotional disorders, whether they be cognitive, affective, or behavioral, or within the context of marriage and family systems. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning, apply psychotherapeutic/family systems theories, and aid in the delivery of services to individuals and their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Provides crisis intervention consultation to all team members
  • Documents in medical record according to requirements of regulatory agencies
  • Submits service activity logs, weekly and monthly schedules
  • Delivers timesheets and mileage to the clinical director
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Calculates figures and amounts such as percentages, mean, median, and mode
  • Draws and interprets bar graphs
  • Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions

Credentials

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Two to three years of experience working in community mental health is preferred
  • Current Virginia license or registration to meet the requirements of a qualified mental health professional
  • Experience with addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches

Join our team of talented professionals at Williamsville Wellness, the nation's premier residential treatment center for gambling addiction. We also provide treatment for alcohol and substance use disorders through residential and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Our 400-acre Virginia countryside facility offers a tranquil, home-like environment with an exceptional staff-to-patient ratio.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments and psychological testing
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy
  • Supervise clinical trainees
  • Participate in case conference consultations
  • Handle crisis intervention
  • Collaborate with medical and treatment staff
  • Contribute to our individualized, holistic treatment approach

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology (ABD considered)
  • Current Virginia psychology license or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience working with addictions and impulse control disorders
  • Background in residential treatment settings preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
