Claire Peterson

Claire Peterson is a graduate student in Virginia Commonwealth University’s Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling master’s program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from James Madison University. As an intern, she provides counseling services at Williamsville Wellness, where she supports individuals navigating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. Claire has experience facilitating group therapy and providing individual therapy in both residential and outpatient treatment settings.

Claire is passionate about providing person-centered care and creating a supportive space for individuals in their recovery journey. She is dedicated to continuous learning and developing her clinical skills to best serve diverse populations.

Her professional experience includes working with individuals in intensive outpatient and residential programs. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and continue working in the field of addiction and mental health treatment.

Outside of her clinical work, Claire enjoys spending time with her friends and family, pursuing different creative outlets, and exploring the city of Richmond.
