Melody Scott is a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) who has been working with Williamsville Wellness since 2022. Melody completed her Master of Counselor Education with a concentration in couples and family counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. Melody is pursuing a DBT certification to continue to assist clients with emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance, improving relationships with self and others, and staying present. Melody has experience with working in FAPT funded programs with at risk children with moderate to severe behavioral issues, intensive-in-home counseling with children and their families, and with adults and children with intellectual disorders and cognitive functioning disorders.
Melody uses an integrative approach of person-centered, family systems, DBT interventions/concepts, and attachment-based interventions. Melody’s main objectives in the integrative approach with clients is to create a nonjudgmental, healthy, and emotional therapeutic space, education clients on roles within family dynamics, empower clients with DBT skills to be present, management of emotions, improve and maintain relationships, and heal the insecure attachment.
