About Melody
Melody Scott is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been a valued member of our comprehensive treatment team at Williamsville Wellness since 2022. She completed her Master of Counselor Education with a concentration in couples and family counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently pursuing DBT certification to enhance her ability to support clients with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and relationship building skills.
Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, Melody brings extensive experience from FAPT funded programs with at-risk children facing moderate to severe behavioral issues, intensive in-home counseling with children and families, and therapeutic work with adults and children with intellectual and cognitive functioning disorders. Her diverse clinical background allows her to provide comprehensive care to clients across various life circumstances.
Melody utilizes an integrative approach that combines person-centered therapy, family systems work, DBT interventions and concepts, and attachment-based interventions. As part of our team's therapeutic framework, her main objectives include creating a nonjudgmental and emotionally safe therapeutic environment, educating clients on family dynamics, empowering individuals with DBT skills for present-moment awareness and emotional management, and supporting the healing of insecure attachment patterns for lasting recovery and growth.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
