About Emma
Emma Land is a Resident in Counseling working towards licensure as a professional counselor. Emma completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Virginia Tech and her Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed a yearlong internship at Williamsville Wellness before joining the team full time.
Emma is passionate about working with individuals struggling with addiction from an internal family systems, somatic therapy, and exposure and response prevention lens. She specializes in working with clients on topics of shame and guilt, OCD, and trauma. Emma is trained in Internal Family Systems therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention therapy, and is also a certified trauma professional.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Utilizing IFS therapy to help clients understand and heal their internal system, addressing different parts of the self with compassion and understanding.
Exposure and Response Prevention
Specialized ERP therapy for OCD and anxiety disorders, helping clients gradually face fears while developing healthy coping mechanisms.
Trauma-Informed Care
Certified trauma professional providing evidence-based trauma treatment to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences.
Shame & Guilt Processing
Specialized focus on helping clients work through complex emotions of shame and guilt that often accompany addiction and mental health challenges.
