About Jason
Jason Pensky is thrilled to have joined our team at Williamsville Wellness as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS). He learned firsthand about the benefits of the Williamsville program during his own recovery journey from a compulsive gambling addiction. Jason brings his lived experience of managing addiction in long-term recovery to our collaborative treatment approach, along with over 7 years of extensive experience walking alongside people who are navigating their own recovery journeys.
Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, Jason holds a Certified Peer Support Professional certification and brings a wealth of diverse experience to his role. Over the past 7+ years, he has facilitated addiction recovery groups for people facing all types of addictions, worked closely with individuals whose addiction has led to involvement in the legal system, and served as the leader of an opioid response team at a community mental health center.
The aspects Jason enjoys most about this work are meeting people where they are in their recovery journey and helping them recognize strengths and victories that can sometimes be difficult to see for oneself in early recovery. His peer support perspective offers hope and practical guidance, demonstrating that long-term recovery is possible and that a fulfilling life can be built while managing addiction as a chronic condition.
