About Madison

Madison Ellison-Potter is a master's-level counseling intern at Williamsville Wellness and is currently in her second year of the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Liberty University. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Looking ahead, Madison also aspires to attend medical school to further expand her ability to provide comprehensive, integrated mental health care.

Madison earned her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University, where she completed an Honors Thesis titled Receding Opportunities and Rumination as Factors that Predict Post-Relationship Distress and Related Constructs. Her research explored the psychological processes that contribute to emotional distress following the end of romantic relationships, further strengthening her interest in evidence-based mental health treatment. In addition to her counseling training, Madison brings five years of experience in Emergency Medical Services, providing her with a unique perspective on crisis response and holistic patient care.

Working alongside our clinical team, Madison utilizes an integrative approach to counseling, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Client-Centered Therapy. As part of our comprehensive treatment approach, she strives to create a collaborative, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore challenges, build resilience, and develop practical skills that support lasting growth and recovery.
